Sometime back Orkut added complete support for Google-Talk popup chat windows. This is different than earlier Google Talk integration where your Orkut friends gets added to Google Talk chat list automatically.

This recent integration opens all active Google Talk chat windows when you move from one Orkut window to another Orkut window seamlessly. This integration also works while switching between Gmail and Orkut.

I personally find this very annoying as I keep open Gmail all the time and prefer to use Gmail chat version of Google Talk. Everytime I open an Orkut page, I have to close these annoying popup chat windows. So I wanted a way out where I can disable these popup chat windows and still have my all Orkut friends get added to Google Talk friend-list automatically.

Solution:

Disabling these popup chats on Orkut is just a click away.

Simply set your Google Talk status on Orkut as offline. This will not affect your status on Gmail and elsewhere.

This userscript adds a context menu with useful links for each profile on orkut. Whenever you right click on any profile, you will see a menu as shown in screen shot .   • Install Greasemonkey extension for Firefox – Click Here to Install (or Read More)
  • Install Community Mass Moderation Script(problem?)Navigate to settings and add all the community IDs that you would like to manage in the settings page.
  • Community ID is the unique number given to your community,
  • Example -http://www.orkut.com/Community.aspx?cmm=25675519
  • In the above address, the number given at the last (25675519) is the community ID.
  • After you have added the list of communities, you should save and exit.
  • You are all set to use Mass Community Moderation Script

Now the actual thing How to Add feeds / rss on your orkut profile ? : Follow these simple steps as given below…
? Navigate to your orkut profile In Your profile, you will see a link to “add stuff”
? Clicking that option would bring you to the page shown in the screenshot below.
? Just enter the Realtrix! feed url in the space highlighted –

? Click add.
? Now you can click on your feeds to check if we have posted something new on Realtrix.

A friend ( reader) was asking me “How to Save or Download Protected Images in flickr ?”. I myself faced a problem when I wanted to Save this nice Image for my stock photo Collections. I was Unable to do that as the image was protected . So I decided to Apply Some trick to get The Photo.

Normally, you can save Images/Pictures from Flickr (or any website) by right clicking the photograph and saying “Save Image As..” but in the case of protected Flickr images, all you will see on the desktop is a blank 1×1 pixel placeholder image called spaceball.gif

Reason : When a Flickr member has set download permissions to disallow his/her photos from being downloaded, a transparent image is overlaid on the actual photo so the right-click method fails.

Solution : You may either use the good-old Print Screen / Screenshot or any of the methods below to defeat the Flickr image protection…

For Firefox: Goto Tools -> Page Info -> Media – Scroll down until you see that Flickr image in the Media Preview Window. Click the Save As button.

In IE, Opera, Safari or Firefox: Right click the Flickr web page and chose “View HTML source” – now search for “spaceball.gif” in the HTML source. You’ll find the full location of the protected image enclosed in the <img src=” Link of Image “ tag just before the tag that encloses the spaceball image. (see screenshot)
