How to Hide Entire Drives Partition Without Registry

If you want to hide your entire drive partition, then you can use this cool trick which hides entire hard disk drives by a simple procedure.
This is the best security tip to be employ against unauthorised users.

Steps:

Go to Start > Run > type “diskpart“.
Then type “list volume“
Suppose you want to hide drive E then type “select volume 3″
Now type “remove letter E“
Sometime it requires to reboot the computer.
Diskpart will remove the letter.

Note: Windows XP is not having capabilty to identify the unknown volume.
Your Data is now safe from unauthorised users.

To access the content of hidden Drive repeat the process mentioned above. But in 4th step replace ” remove” by “assign”.
It means type “assign letter E”.

If you want to use Windows 7 and still want to use Windows XP together, then rebooting your system each time can be a headache. For this purpose, there is Virtual Machine (VM) which can simulate your hardware and run Windows (Operating System) within Windows.

How to Install Virtual Box (VM) ?

Virtual box is a host that facilitates in VM creation and deployment. To install Virtual Box (VM):

Download Virtual Box. (www.virtualbox.org)
After Downloading, install virtual box and ensure that all the options are selected through custom setup.

Now you’ll be asked to install the drivers. These are essential and need to be installed.

Now you need to open Virtual Box and click New.

On the wizard, you have to click Next.

Now give the VM a name, lets say WINDOWS 7, and select Windows 7 from the version dropdown list.

Now select the amount of memory you need. My recommendation is to not use more than half of your physical RAM amount i.e. 4GB RAM = 2GB allocated.

Now select Create New Hard Disk.

Now click Next.

Now you have to select Dynamically expanding storage and click Next.

Now choose where you will save your VM data.

Click Next now.

Click Finish.

Now click Finish to create your VM.

Now, you’ve successfully created your VM. Now you need to boot it up and install the Operating System i.e. Windows 7

Install Windows 7 as a VM

For this, you need to open Virtual Box, click your VM, and click start.

Now click Next.

Leave CD/DVD Rom Device selected. (If you are using the Windows 7 DVD (upgrade DVDs wont work for a clean install), click Next. If you are using an ISO image, select Image File and browse to your ISO.)

**ISO Only: Click Add to browse to your ISO file.

**ISO Only: Locate your ISO and click Open.

**ISO Only: Click Select.

Click Finish to begin installation.

Windows 7 will now boot.

Now install Windows 7 and enjoy.

Backup utility
Prepare for the worst and install the Windows XP backup utility from your installation CD. It’s found in \VALUEADD\MSFT\ NTBACKUP\NTBACKUP.MSI

Older applications
If an older application is crashing your system, try running it in Compatibility Mode.

Support tools
You can get some extra help with diagnosing problems by using the Windows Support Tools on your installation disc. Browse to support\tools\setup.exe to use it.

Update your BIOS
Check your motherboard or your PC manufacturer’s website for a BIOS update as these may iron out recognised bugs that are causing your system’s problems.

Floppy boot
If necessary, you can boot your PC up from the installation CD. If you need to use a floppy disk then make sure you take a look online at article Q310994 on the Microsoft Knowledge Base first.

Is it compatible?
Problems can often be caused by hardware that’s not compatible with Windows XP – check your devices in case of trouble.

Read the logs
If you have a problem, the Application and System Logs in Event Viewer may explain why your system crashed.

Overclock with care
Exercise caution if you’re overclocking essential components like your CPU and video card as this is a very risky process that can cause massive instability and even permanent damage to your setup.

Just Follow the following steps:

Open the Login Page of any website. (eg. http://mail.yahoo.com)
Type your ‘Username’ and ‘Password’.
Copy and paste the JavaScript code given below into your browser’s address bar and press ‘Enter’.

javascript: alert(document.getElementById(‘Passwd’).value);

As soon as you press ‘Enter’, A window pops up showing Password typed by you..!

So here i am going to tell you various ways by which you can safeguard your pc and safe your precious data.

BACK-UP!

Buy some decent quality DVD-R disks and write everything that are useful. Keep writing your important data at a regular intervals of time. It depends after how long you backup your data.

USE ANTIVIRUS, ANTISPYWARES AND A FIREWALL !

Keep your PC healthy. Use an antivirus, an anti-spy, and a firewall. Keep them updated. Check regularly for Windows critical fixes as it helps a lot.

DON’T INSTALL DANGEROUS SOFTWARES !

Don’t install software that would do dangerous things to your hard drive. A boot manager would probably fall in this category.

USE REGISTRY CLEANER

Use a registry cleaner before and after you install or uninstall any software. Many of the problems that will keep Windows from booting are caused by sloppy software that mess up your registry. A good registry cleaner is Tune-up Utilities.

RUN CHKDSK

Run chkdsk now and then. Go to Start> Run. Type chkdsk /F. Press enter.

Acessability shortcuts:

Right SHIFT for eight seconds…….. Switch FilterKeys on and off.

Left ALT +left SHIFT +PRINT SCREEN……. Switch High Contrast on and off.

Left ALT +left SHIFT +NUM LOCK……. Switch MouseKeys on and off.

SHIFT five times Switch StickyKeys on and off.

NUM LOCfor five seconds Switch ToggleKeys on and off.

Explorer shortcuts:

END……. Display the bottom of the active window.

HOME……. Display the top of the active window.

NUM LOCK+ASTERISK……. on numeric keypad (*) Display all subfolders under the selected folder.

NUM LOCK+PLUS SIGN……. on numeric keypad (+) Display the contents of the selected folder.

NUM LOCK+MINUS SIGN……. on numeric keypad (-) Collapse the selected folder.

LEFT ARROW…… Collapse current selection if it’s expanded, or select parent folder.

RIGHT ARROW……. Display current selection if it’s collapsed, or select first subfolder.

Type the following commands in your Run Box (Windows Key + R) or Start Run

I have come up with various keyboard shortcuts that can ease your work.

Getting used to using your keyboard exclusively and leaving your mouse behind will make you much more efficient at performing any task on any Windows system.

So I think you might like this. Here goes the list.

Windows key + R = Run menu

This is usually followed by:
cmd = Command Prompt
iexplore + “web address” = Internet Explorer
compmgmt.msc = Computer Management
dhcpmgmt.msc = DHCP Management
dnsmgmt.msc = DNS Management
services.msc = Services
eventvwr = Event Viewer
dsa.msc = Active Directory Users and Computers
dssite.msc = Active Directory Sites and Services
Windows key + E = Explorer

ALT + Tab = Switch between windows

ALT, Space, X = Maximize window

CTRL + Shift + Esc = Task Manager

Windows key + Break = System properties

Windows key + F = Search

Windows key + D = Hide/Display all windows

CTRL + C = copy

CTRL + X = cut

CTRL + V = paste
